If it truly is "calibration" of touch screens (and the computer ballot systems I use in Texas do NOT have touch screens, you move a dial to control a cursor), then it would potentially affect races on every page of the ballot.
I don't know about New York's system but back in the 80s I used to hear about certain switches being deliberately jammed.
What troubles me isn’t what gets printed out as your vote. What troubles me is the counting. Unless you can see a blip go up for Oscar the Grouch, then how do you know it didn’t go to Kermit the Frog?
Paper ballots and hand counting had its problems, but at least you had that ballot and could count it again.
We must return to that.
I don’t want a machine scoring it. I don’t want a machine counting it.
Also, NO precinct reports until ALL precincts report at the same time. And even then no numbers released until all precincts are accounted for.
Finally, No additional ballots received after the turn in time, so all absentee ballots must be in the numbers reported.
FOLKS: Let us all drag out our pens and papers and send Chuck Hagel and wife a thank you note for these wonderful voting machines; they own a controlling interest in the company in Spain that sold them to the U. S. Govt. Is everyone pleased with the cushy job Chuckie was appointed to in return for this “favor.” The machines will always track to the left; that is how they were sold. Again, spend 50 cents and thank Chuckie and wife. This administration is sick.

Unfortunately those scantron tabulators are easier to rig than the voting machines.
Exactly. End machine voting, and go to scantrons. Give me a rolling count receipt that provides my votes, just like they’ve been doing in stores for decades.
And the same shady precincts still cannot count faster.
Call and email the Fox reporter.
End early voting and allow absentee voting only in extreme cases. Neither have improved voter turn out.
We need to return to Constitutional elections. The Constitution only allows one election day per election.

The ones used in voting store a running count on a card which is uploaded to he central computer. The problem is in the card that can be easily rigged.
Not the one I was looking for but....
same thing happens every darn election. Some machine in a million acts up, cast a Dem as a Rep or a Rep as a Dem and the lamestream media has something to fill up a weeks worth of news instead of focusing on the issues.
