A Liberian passenger who flew into New Jersey on Tuesday was taken to hospital over fears he had been exposed to Ebola, media reported.

The man, who had flown from Liberia to Brussels and then caught a connecting flight to Newark, had a fever, NBC New York reported, citing unnamed officials.

The passenger was "identified as reporting symptoms or having a potential exposure to Ebola," a spokeswoman for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told the network. The CDC was not immediately available for comment.

Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are at the epicenter of the world's worst reported epidemic of the hemorrhagic fever that has killed more than 4,500 people.

Sooner or later, Ebola will again land. Why aren't we checking these people overseas? Are we to believe they just vomit from air sickness?

Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are at the epicenter of the world's worst reported epidemic of the hemorrhagic fever that has killed more than 4,500 people.

During FY 2013, the DHS website showed US Border Patrol agents apprehended 112 immigrants from Guinea, 231 from Liberia and 145 immigrants from Sierra Leone,----three countries currently experiencing the most cases....countries that border the West African country---the Ivory Coast.

M/M O pictured w/ Ivory Coast official 2009.

The oil-rich Ivory Coast has one of the worst human rights records in Africa whose rulers are accused of funneling millions of public monies into their own pockets. But now it looks like the son of the dictator----Teodoro---whose world— comprised yachts, Bugattis, and Michael Jackson memorabilia—could come crashing down, according to Foreign Policy (via Curbed).

Malibu home of Ivory Coast dictator's son.

Foreign Policy's Ken Silverstein reported that after a four-year investigation into alleged extortion and laundering of $100 million in the US and "theft of public funds, or other corrupt conduct" back at home, the Justice Department has filed notice of a lawsuit involving the possible seizure of Tedoro's California mansion, and other assets.

And French investigators just seized millions of dollars' worth of his sports cars, while the Spanish government is investigating the entire Obiang clan. Teodoro reportedly hasn't spent much time stateside recently, in part thanks to various legal actions against him.

Just a peek inside the insane world of Teodoro---he first came to the U.S. to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu. While tuition cost just $3,400, he managed to blow through $50,000 in the first five months before dropping out. Source: Business insier--LA Weekly.

Teodoro is listed as the owner of this $35 million mansion on the Malibu coast, which he paid for in cash. It was the most expensive home sold in California in 2006, and has a tennis court, swimming pool and 4-hole golf course.

Teodoro's on the government payroll as "minister of agriculture and forestry," and supposedly makes just $5,000 per month. But his Malibu home contains $60,000 worth of rugs, a $58,000 home theater and a $1,734 pair of wine glasses.

==================================

CAN YOU SAY VERSIMILLITUDE? The Obama family blew $1.4B on travel and entertainment for themselves and their numerous personal staffs in one year: that's 2000 times more than what the entire British Royal Family cost the UK ($57.8M)----$27 million bucks a week is only the tip of the iceberg: White House sources claim Michelle went through $10M of taxpayer money last year on just her own private trips and shopping sprees, with one calling the First Lady's self-indulgent spending orgy -including extravagant massages, top-shelf booze, and five-star hotels w/ dozens in her entourage.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

BREAKING: Top GOP Senator to Introduce Ebola Bill That Has the White House in Panic Mode
http://conservativetribune.com/sen-to-introduce-ebola-bill/

Republican Senator Marco Rubio is gaining support for plans to introduce legislation that would place temporary bans on visa issuance to people from Ebola-ravaged nations (H/T: Breitbart). This bill would run counter to the White House’s current strategy to prevent more infected people from entering the U.S. from West Africa – which is essentially non-existent.

We are checking them (nod, nod, wink, wink). Departing passengers are required to complete out a form affirming they’ve had no exposure to Ebola—the same one Eric Duncan filled out before he flew to the U.S. Never mind that he lied on almost every question. The individual who landed in Newark probably did the same thing.

And, we’re supposed to sleep well knowing that passengers’ temperatures are taken before departing and again on arrival. About the time that requirement was announced, a physician called Rush Limbaugh’s program; he happened to have one of the devices, which is a bit like a radar gun; point it at someone, and it remotely determines their temperature. While speaking with Rush, the doctor took his own temperature: 91.5.

Nothing to worry about, your government is here to help.

"Why aren't we checking these people overseas?"

------------------------------------------------->

Certainly makes more sense than flying them with a plane load of innocent passengers.
