6 People Who Downplayed The Threat Of Ebola
Breitbart.com ^ | October 21, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

With the announcement last week that a second nurse had contracted the Ebola virus – and then flown with the Ebola virus already manifesting as a “low-grade” fever – it has become clear that the government is not in control of the situation. Already, the Centers for Disease Control have announced that they will be adopting stricter protocols in the future, which would make perfect sense given that any common sense standard would include travel bans on those who treat Ebola patients.

They are all downplaying it now. Hospitals dont want people to know someone came in with symptoms because they turn into ghost towns.
Democrats dont want people to know because of elections.
Immigration reformists dont want people to know because it causes the public to want t the borders closed.

I have a sneaky suspicion there are other cases out there and we just dont know about them, and wont unless the die.

unless they die

If there are other infections they have had their week or more of incubation. That means they will die in a week without treatment and we will find out about it.

There's a much larger chance of new cases from the 1000 incoming ebola refugees each week. Would not surprise me to see them shove those under the rug somehow. But domestic contact cases (i.e. Americans) would be hard to hide.

Count me among those downplaying the threat of Ebola. Think about it - When was the last time a media panic turned out to be true? SARS? Swine Flu? Global Warming? Heterosexual AIDS? The media is an unthinking herd for the most part. They more they panic, the more I tune out.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Of course there is other news about ebola out there but the new ebola czar has shut down the media. You’ll hear nothing from now on.

Oh, I forgot, we may read about it in European newspapers. Not in our press.

Our local hospital had two cases a week before Duncan went to the hospital. Fever, vomiting, just back from West Africa, the whole profile. In both cases it turned out to be malaria.

It’s eerie to have so much news about ebola and then...nothing.

I’ve been googling ‘ebola news’ and found this. It seems Connecticut is taking precautions. Just not publicizing it much.
