Mary Landrieu is the best choice by far for Louisiana: Editorial (NOLA) (Barf alert)

When Mary Landrieu was elected to the U.S. Senate 18 years ago, Louisiana residents needed her to become a strong and effective advocate for the state. She did that, forging relationships across party lines, pushing three different presidents and her colleagues in Congress to treat us fairly and building the clout that comes not only with seniority but respect. The benefits to Louisiana have been enormous. At a time when the New Orleans area needed eloquent and powerful leadership after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the levee breaches, Sen. Landrieu provided it. She championed our community's right to be rebuilt, reminding Washington of the value of this almost 300-year-old port city on the nation's greatest river.

What a low-information editorial. Somehow Landrieu voting 97% of the time with Obama is considered "centrist". Funny how the paper forgot to mention her deciding vote for obamacare, and the fact that she had to be bribed for it as well. She squawks about seniority, but can't get a vote on the Keystone pipeline. Louisiana has a problem with dumb sh!t GOP voting for her. Let's hope this time it stops.

Wow. If Mary Landrieu cares so much about Louisiana you’d think she’d move there.

LOL..good one..she does live with her parents in the New Orleans area..the nice thing if Landrieu loses is that she doesn’t have to move out of her 2.5 million DC home..she will stay there and be a lobbyist..

Whatever became of the false sugar story that was planted in a newspaper just before one of her last elections?

Oh and I remember when abortion was mentioned, she stated she was pro life and pro choice

But where does she live?

Although Landrieu and her hubby occupy a $2.5 million mansion in DC, Landrieu asserts that she still lives in Louisiana with her parents, saying “I have lived at my home on Prieur Street most of my life and I live there now, when not fulfilling my duties in Washington or serving constituents across the state.”

In a report by the Washington Post, Moon and Verna’s neighbors say they haven’t seen Mary in years. “I don’t think she lives there,” said Fontaine Wells, 65, pointing at the Landrieu home. “She might come visit, but come on now — she lives in D.C. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her.”

Michael Fitzgerald, 61, has lived around the corner from the Landrieus for three decades. He said he sees Moon and Verna Landrieu regularly, as well as Mitch Landrieu, Mary’s younger brother and the city’s current mayor, who lives in a home he owns nearby.

“On Election Day, [Mary] is seen at our polling place accompanying her parents.” He added, “I have not seen her lately..... She’s been in the Senate for — I’ve lost count — 16 years? 18 years?”--SNIP--

Mary Landrieu filed a voter registration form in DC in 1997. Does she vote twice?

LOCK-STEPPING MARY TURNS HER BACK ON DER LEADER Landrieu recently ran an ad featuring her "anger" at Obama for "breaking his promise" — she calculatedly pivots to attacks on the GOP over healthcare. In Landrieu, we bear witness to the offensive, twisted mind of a Democrat---- Landrieu proves why Dems should never, ever get even close to political power.

WHAT SHE WANTS VOTERS TO BELIEVE Landrieu aired a commercial showing her at numerous public settings last fall sternly telling Obama to "keep his promise to let people keep their current health plans if they want to" — w/ Landrieu taking credit---- after Obama's failed attempt to make that happen.....

REALITY CHECK: Landrieu is caught on-tape, in the well of the Senate, parroting Obama's infamous lie, "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan." AND THIS: “If you like the insurance that you have, you’ll be able to keep it.” (Landrieu on MSNBC’s Hardball, 12/16/09)

============================================

STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature healthcare plan---ultimately enacted, by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote, into the "Affordable Care Act"

QUOTING 2008 OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.” Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

Significantly, Obamba NEVER corrected lock-stepping Democrats, all reading from the same Democrat talking points, all of them repeating the same Democrat promises---over and over again.

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930- 40's ERA EUROPE Obama And The Dems marched in lockstep. The persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

==========================================================

THE LANDRIEU PAPER TRAIL IS HUGE Landrieu sold her aye vote in what Forbes Magazine dubbed "The 'Louisiana Purchase" that included a massive $4.3 Billion to Landrieu.

FORBES REPORTED the Democrats’ nailed Landrieu’s support for Obamacare w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her vote in exchange for some $200 million more additional federal funds for Louisiana. Except that, due to a drafting error, the law ended up giving Louisiana $4.3 billion: more than twenty times the assigned amount. MORE HERE http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml

How $4.3 billion to Landrieu was attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, is yet annother indictment of the Obamacare atrocity. The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare.

<><> Where's the $4.3 billion, Mary?

BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage. In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied--- Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare---and the $4.3 Landrieu giveaway was attached to the Obamacare bill.

<><> Where's the money, Mary?

If the primary reason for supporting a candidate is because they have the clout to bring money in, then you’re morally no different than a whore. You can be bought.

I have been forced to visit New Orleans multiple times. It was like going to visit Haiti. I no longer have any business that would require me to go there.

Thank God for that.

a lot of Congressmen/Senators register(ed) in DC because doing so gives them a substantial real estate tax break. With a $2.5M home there, that’s significant. Since 1997 and all the trouble Tom Daschle subsequently got into over this little tax loophole/DC registration, she may have dropped the registration figuring her seat was more valuable than the $$ saved.

Believe me, NOLA, DC Democrats know about the value of government dependents voting! It’s a numbers game, not sentimentality about the value of a port city etc. etc.

Did NOLA/The Times Picayune endorse Ray Nagin? I can’t be bothered to search for it but my guess is almost certainly yes.

That's true nationwide.

And they don't even have to actually vote. All they have to do is register. The poll workers will see to it that their ballots are filled in "correctly".
