Tina Brown Treats Republicans Like Dogs: 'They Had Their Rabies Shots'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 10/20/2014 6:50:51 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Tart-tongued Tina Brown is at it again. On today's Morning Joe, seeking to explain why Republicans are doing surprisingly well with women voters this year, Brown said: "they had their rabies shots."

Brown was responding to a Politico article reporting that President Obama is under water with women voters, and that this is spilling over into Senate races. In Colorado, for example, a poll shows Republican Cory Gardner leading Dem Mark Udall by nine points among women. And even Alison Lundergan Grimes [who may or may not have voted for Barack Obama], only leads among women by two. Brown's ugly metaphor was her way of saying that Republicans have had better message discipline and have avoided the kind of "legitimate rape" gaffes that doomed candidates in previous cycles.

“Brown said: “they had their rabies shots.”

Another intelligent reply from a liberal who has lost the argument.

Anyone who has nothing substantially critical to say about the democrat party at this point is clearly ideologically deranged and frankly is not worth the time.

No decent parent would want their children to marry a registered Democrat.

Nasty liberal ....

Single women are not difficult to figure out when it comes to voting patterns. They want the government to serve as a daddy/husband surrogate, to provide for them and above all, keep them safe. The “war on women” was a fun game to play for them, as long as they felt safe. Now, with ISIS ramping up, ebola and illegal immigration unchecked, Russia taking Ukraine unchallenged, and the market tanking, the world seems a little more intimidating. Time for a new daddy to keep them safe, they’ll try the Republicans.

Tina Brown is so 1990s. She has bombed — and bombed spectacularly — since then. She's old, stodgy and out of tune with the times. I don't understand why anyone has her on as a guest or cares what she has to say about anything anymore.

It has been the Republicans in the House who have been upsetting things for Obama.

The House has passed something like 500 bills, stuff we all would agree with, and when they pass their bill to the Senate nothing is done.

The do-nothing Congress is the Senate led by Harry Reid. The House keeps sending him stuff he doesn't like.

What does that say?

Obama is truly a lame duck. And the House Republicans have managed to upset the apple cart big time.

But the smoke and mirrors are still in place so we are given the impression that Republicans have just been sitting on their hands.

Not so.

You're being gentlemanly. She hasn't bombed since the 1990s. She never has done anything but bomb, losing deca-millions of dollars for every single sucker-corporation in the US that hired her. And I seem to recall she was a money-pit on Fleet Street before that.

And yet, last year the GOP got the blame for the so-called 'government shutdown'. IIRC, at the time Boehner appeared on one of the late night shows (Leno, I think) and actually *agreed* that the GOP 'shut down the government'.

I'm beginning to believe that no matter what happens on Nov 4th, nothing is going to change.

If the Republicans take over both Houses, then we know that it will make Hussein pretty livid.

A do-nothing president getting handed bills that he refuses to sign would then be a no-nothing presidency.

That in itself might be worth the price of admission.
