I’ve had my cards declined by the bank due to suspected fraud.

People think a card gets denied because there’s no money in the till - that’s true but there are also times when a bank won’t validate all transactions.

Sometimes you have to stop by the bank and prove you personally authorized them.

Two years ago...I was trying to buy a cellphone via Wal-Mart and it’s on-line system. I must have spent two hours, trying to buy the phone in question, and having the credit card continually declined. I called my credit card company and noted the issue. They saw no problem. I went back to repeat the purchase....no go. A third time....no go. A fourth time.....no go.

I eventually gave up with Wal-Mart, that credit card usage from the particular bank, and went to Best Buy with another card. Sixty seconds later....it was done.

What I’ve figured out is that this original card has all kinds of built-in protective features and it’s a total waste to use on on-line purchases or airline reservations. I use it only for car-rentals as I actually show up at the airport. It’s silly and almost worth dumping the credit card.

I have a second card that has a vast limit and you must be within fifty miles of where your address is, or you sent them a notice of what city/area you will be traveling through. I’m almost of the mind that this one is a waste.

Maybe the bank did a background check

Especially if you travel, and you don’t inform the bank, they will get declined for that reason.

On my last trip, I forgot to call the credit card companies and it happened to me.
