Several major airlines including British Airways and Emirates have suspended service to Ebola-stricken regions of West Africa in response to a rapidly worsening Ebola outbreak, and Americans seem to agree with the service halts: 58% of people polled in a recent survey from NBC News want to ban all incoming flights from West African countries with Ebola.

But two airlines—Brussels and Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s largest airline—have continued serving Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

Brussels Airlines says it has no plans to stop flying into Guinea, Sierra Leone or Liberia in the immediate future. “It is our humanitarian duty to operate there,” said Geert Sciot, a vice president at Brussels Airlines.

Belgium (and France) had a big colonial presence in West Africa once upon a time.

I can't believe that money is the key motivator here. Because once an Ebola victim is identified as having been on a Brussels Airlines flight, people will avoid that airline. The airlines will lose millions.

It's PC run amok. Better to risk the lives of thousands than to offend a single member of a protected class.

And yet there are idiots on this website that don`t want a flight halt, only stop the visas. I say all of the above, I mean now what`s it going to take to decon that airliner, and will the cash strapped airlines do it or will they spray a little spring scented lysol and say “Good enough.”?
