I fully understand your position. My York political experiences come more from inside the belly of the late John Thompson Sr. GOP political machine.
That tends to put me against the Republican machine and its endorsed candidates more often than not.

Pileggi holds up any meaningful reform in this state and has his pocket throroughly lined with union money......
My experiences are there, too. Thompson did Appel’s bidding, which meant that the Republicans in the city were not supported, and wer often opposed. Thompson’s bitter enemy, Platts, was no better, supporting his buddy Brenner for mayor with the full weight of his formidable organization, even enlisting his volunteers to canvass in the city for Brenner.
