A nurse who authorities believe may be infected with Ebola was rushed to a Paris-area hospital on Thursday afternoon for tests and treatment, French paper Le Parisien reported
If the woman, who has not been named, is confirmed to be infected with the disease that's killed over 4,000 people in Africa she would be the first person infected in France. Two other suspected cases in Paris in the last seven days, including one involving an American national, turned out to be false alarms.
Health authorities believe she could be infected because she treated the Doctors' Without Borders aid worker who arrived in France September 19th for treatment after contracting the disease while working at a hospital in Liberia.
The Doctors Without Borders nurse was subsequently cured of the illness during her stay at the Begin military hospital, to the east of Paris.
The military hospital is where the nurse was sent on Thursday afternoon for tests. It's one of over a dozen centres around France designated for treating Ebola patients in the case of an outbreak.
The hospital has a special isolation ward, where it is believed the nurse is being cared for. All other patients were evacuated from the emergency ward, before it was contaminated, Le Parisien states.
Blood tests are being carried out to confirm or rule out whether the nurse has the virus.
French Healthy Minister Marisol Touraine declined to comment on the potential new case, noting she would not speak about suspected Ebola infections until any were confirmed.

I was in Charles DeGaulle Airport in Paris once, during a layover to Berlin. It looked like a UN meeting...................
I spent a day in Paris once when the Italian airport workers went on strike. Went downtown to a Chinese restuarant, where the Chinese woman cused me out in French for being a stupid American - strange.
Captain Tripp’s Army is on the March.
Apparently the legendary rudeness of the French is more contagious than Ebola....................
I was there a month ago. Got my luggage off the carousel with 3 flights from Africa, including Lagos. Held my breath for about 25 minutes.
Another one of these idiots.
Go to Liberia to work with Ebola victims, act like you dont have to let anyone know when you return home.
Simple law: If you go to these places as part of some organization, and dont report it, you will not get treatment if you are sick.
Cruel? Not as much as what they are doing by not telling anyone.
I drank scotch, made in japan, purchased in spain, in france with a guy from italy. Messed up night to say the least.
Careful, you might turn blue and they would think you had Ebola!....................and what about the baggage handlers in Lagos and other points of embarkation?............
Send her to America for treatment. We can’t discriminate just because she didn’t contract it in Africa.
Those European countries took in known Ebola infected health workers for treatment. So far so good. Except for a couple possible nurses infected (one confirmed in Spain, now one possible in France).
Just wait till someone random walks in from the streets, like Mr. Duncan did. Then we will see if Europeans have the same ‘irrational’ ‘ignorance’ and ‘panic’ as Americans.
Dang....he’s really planting one on that poor lady. Yuck!!
No different than JFK Airport.
The media had a field day (just kidding, he's not a Republican).
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
