I remember the POLIO epidemic of the 1950s, a truly frightening time.

Ebola is no laughing matter if it does suddenly break out and spread.

I don't remember the old timers laughing about Yellow Fever, Cholera and Diphtheria and smallpox.

No need to panic, just keep an eye on it and take precautions as necessary. Now if we could just get the Obama administration on board to contain this.

I remember my dad talking about typhoid. Luckily to date, Ebola is nowhere near as contagious, but the ineptness and incompetence of our government is what's so disconcerting.

You remember polio - I don’t but my mother did. I took care of post polio victims years ago.

Don’t you think people now who aren’t old enough to remember these diseases think that you can just take a pill or get a shot and everything is fine? No understanding of quarantine or isolation to keep infections down because for the most part we no longer have scary contagious diseases that kill people in large numbers. Until now.
