CBS4 Denver ^ | 10-15-2014 | Brian Maass

Posted on 10/15/2014 8:00:42 PM PDT by tcrlaf

CBS4 has learned that Quest Diagnostics, the nation’s largest diagnostic lab company, has told doctors, hospitals and health care providers nationwide the company will not accept blood samples suspected of being infected with Ebola; and will not knowingly allow any patients suspected of having Ebola into Quest offices.

In a message sent Oct. 11 to hospitals and doctors, Quest Diagnostics said, “Patients with known or suspected Ebola hemorrhagic fever should not be referred to Quest Patient Service Centers or Quest In-Office Phlebotomists for specimen collections of any type.”

CBS4 contacted Wendy Horst, a Quest spokesperson. She said, “We have informed clinicians that Quest Diagnostics does not provide Ebola testing and that we recommend that they refer to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for information about testing for this virus in the United States.”

LabCor announced the same policy about an hour ago.

They don't want any samples sent to them that aren't pre-screened, and they don't want their people already working in hospitals anywhere near it.

Basicly, they are saying "we aren't equipped for this", and "No way in hell do we want any liability for this!!"

0bola’s not going to like the optics of this. I see a beer summit in their future.

I can just see Hussein forcing them to take ebola blood, while still allowing flights from West Africa.

The labs have more sense than the CDC.

This really is a BIG deal, folks. These two companies represent a large percentage of all blood lab work done in America.

This will put even more pressure on the CDC labs.

Things are going to start shutting down in a variety of ways. Not because of any massive "depopulation" but because people become scared and things will just fall apart.

Our society is very fragile. Didn't used to be -- but it's the 21st century, and I think we're insanely delicate.

Turn away a gay patient and see what happens.

This is a huge deal. More and more and more people are going to be suspected of Ebola even if it is common flu.

What does prescreened blood mean?

LabCor is reacting as most politically influential people are reacting.

These two companies control around 30% of all the lab testing done in America.

“LabCor is reacting as most politically influential people are reacting.”

The potential Civil Liability cost of mishandling a single Ebola sample is just astronomical.

I have said from the beginning that once things get going, it will be the fear of LIABILITY LAWSUITS that will shut things down in America.

That was four days ago. How many has Quest rejected in those four days? And where are they being tested?

“Things are going to start shutting down in a variety of ways. Not because of any massive “depopulation” but because people become scared and things will just fall apart.

Our society is very fragile. Didn’t used to be — but it’s the 21st century, and I think we’re insanely delicate. “

Indeed. Brittle. Fragile. Chaotic system. Butterfly effect. I’ve been pounding on this theme for weeks now throughout the blogosphere with posts like this one:

The problems with things like Ebola is that they grow exponentially. Even if Ebola grows slowly to start with, unfortunately, we ain’t seen nuttin yet. Just wait until flu and norovirus season hits to see what a completely paralyzed nation that battens down the barricades REALLY looks like as millions have symptoms that are much like how Ebola starts off! The trenches of our medical system are woefully unprepared for something like this. And thank you, President Obola for your “fundamental transformation” when flu season hits! Oh, and PLEASE let’s keep those West African shuttles flying back and forth, since obviously it would do no good anyway with your open borders policy.

Oh, and everyone? Be sure to vote a straight Democrat ticket in November: they really DO care about you folks, ya’ll hear? After all:

“Now, I am not on the ballot this fall,” Obama stressed. “... But make no mistake: My policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” (Including unrestricted West African air flights.)

King Barack Hussein Obama, October 2, 2014, Northwestern University

(BTW, I’m starting to switch my view of Obama from an evil genius deliberately trying to destroy our country to an evil fool who’s destroying us from total incompetence, because no one in their right mind would deliberately let Ebola into this country like he did.)

We should start referring to the American version of this disease as OBOLA.

Right now we are at the beginning stages of an Obola Outbreak.
