FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has stopped running TV ads in Kentucky's U.S. Senate race, a severe blow to Alison Lundergan Grimes in her challenge to Republican leader Mitch McConnell.
In a statement issued three weeks before the Nov. 4 election and a day after the candidates' sole debate, the committee said Tuesday that it had spent more than $2 million in Kentucky and continued to fund get-out-the-vote operations. However, the committee made no commitment to go back on the air in support of Grimes, who has been pummeled by tens of millions of dollars in attack ads by McConnell and his allies.

No love for McConnell, but this is not a seat to give up. It could be lost for a generation in that state with a young female candidate. At one point, was ambivalent on this race, but very happy to see it turning the right direction.
It’s a lose/lose either way.
Too bad, she’s kinda cute and I enjoyed watching her get her you-know-what caught in the wringer
One more nail in the coffin of Reid as ML...never a bad thing.
With Reid gone as ML, many of the stonewalled House passed Bills can be resurrected, and can get a vote in Senate.
At this point, a Senate majority is an absolute necessity.
Obviously I’d prefer a real conservative win the seat, but beats another abortion Barbie winning and staying there 20 years.
Agreed.
I’ll always wonder about funding for air ads and signs for yards. I have never been influenced by them, except NEGATIVELY. I even mute the Lindsey Graham commercials down here so I don’t have to hear him say he is a conservative. Does this stuff really influence votes?
Short term, yes it is a lose lose, but if we give the Dems a KY seat for a couple decades it makes it that much harder long term.
McConnell won’t be there forever, and frankly, I am not so sure (next in line) Cornyn is any better. He may be worse. McConnell occasionally grows some balls and rallies the caucus. Keeping every Republican on the reservation against Obamacare, for example, is not to be ignored.
Part of me wants to send a message because of his horrid conduct in the primaries cutting off media companies, etc. I still feel that level of passion about Mississippi. I would would do all I can in MS to boot Cochran for the racist tactics of his campaign. McConnell is awful, but mostly fair game when it came to beating his challenger. Hardball, but in bounds, as I see it. To his credit, he is just as hard ball and aggressive against Grimes. It has been a vicious campaign and really well done.
