Um, no. My job has never asked me to break the law. They didn't ask this cop to break a law. He's free to his principles. I'm sure he and I share a number of them.
However, when you take a job you are subject to their guidelines. If my job tells me to go to an event, I go. If not, I can quit or accept the punishment.
