Biblical literalism is ridiculous. That is my message. To hold the Bible up as literal truth is the same as agreeing with the Koran freaks of the Taliban and ISIS. The Bible is a moral and allegorical message for everyone to consider. The only important point in the Bible is the Ten Commandments. That is what we should live by.

The problem is people who declare their interpretation of Scripture as infallible - deeming themselves better understanding of God’s word than God Himself.
When an interpretation of Scripture is plainly at odds with a plain interaction with Creation, have some humility to say “this is what I think this means, but don’t know how to reconcile it with that.”

Yes a few founding fathers might have been agnostics but the breadth and spine of our nation’s traditions were founded by literalist Bible Christians...you know the type that you claim are just like ISIS.
