Trans-Nzoia County Government has closed Suam border point along the Kenya- Uganda border following reports that one person had died from suspected Ebola in Bukwo district Eastern Uganda.

Deputy Governor Dr Stanley Tarus announced on Friday that the border point has been temporally closed and movement restricted.

"We received reports that one person has died from a disease suspected to be Ebola and we are not taking chances. We have closed the border and restricted movement," said Tarus in Kitale.

He said a team of health workers have been dispatched to the area to monitor the situation amid panic and fear at the border. Dr Tarus said the health personnel will screen people particularly Kenyans crossing the border back from Uganda.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

He must let the fear factor grow as large as possible by November 4th.

He cant use his record to aid his democrack cohorts so he’s using the ebola boogieman to reek havoc on the electoral process.

hes racking up some really heavy negative points....where it REALLY counts.

Those idiots! Don’t they realize that they are not helping stop the spread of Ebola by making it more difficult to get the help they need in? Next thing you know they be restricting airplane flights!

Six African countries have shut off entry from the Ebola hotspots on their own continent. Tell me again how it would be racist to do the same thing while giving a high level of aid and military construction help?
