<>If defeating liberalism today requires ‘radical’ surgery then let’s give ‘em the gas and get on with it.<>

Bingo. Let's get on with an Article V state convention to propose structural changes to our government. Start with repeal of the 17th amendment and press on!

I agree,
an odd thing happen once, a guy was interviewing for a job and was in the next to last round of interviews when he found out he was turned down. The board gave him a chance to say what he really thought and he took the view of what difference he could make in a hundred years. His answer was that if he could work for economic freedom for all, then that would be good achievement.

Of course the guy was named Ron and a few years later he got the job of POTUS. IMHO, it was in his defeat that he found his mission.

Excellent summary.

Isn’t it a shame that we allowed these clowns to steal the word “liberal?”

The traditional meaning of the word was honest tolerance for different ideas. They aren’t about that at all.

I prefer the phrase “progressive,” having to admit that they have successfully undermined our language.

Churches that adopt liberal beliefs inevitably become such pale imitations of the truth that missionaries should be sent in to convert them to Christianity.

LOL - totally nailed it....

It magnifies our understanding of how things went so wrong by reading CS Lewis’ monumental “The Screwtape Letters.”

How does it go; if you want to piss off a conservative, tell him a lie. If you want to piss off a liberal, tell him the truth.

I have a theory about liberalism. First off, Savage has it correct. Liberalism is a mental disorder. But it isn’t being the liberal that is the disorder. It is the part of the brain, that is open to influence that is. Something in there is damaged, just like how some people can be hypnotized and some cannot. Let’s call it groupthink.

When liberals take power, what is the first thing they do? Anyone? THEY LOOT THE TREASURY. Call it taxes, fees, whatever. But one thing is clear. The money never gets to those who are supposed to receive it. Words like “Redistribution” are code words for steal.

So here is my theory. Liberalism is nothing more than a tool used to keep the populace in the dark while those in power steal everything not nailed down. Those in power are nothing more than common criminals and if you are not in the mob(Soros is the Don) you are prey.

The other thing you can say about liberalism is those in power are vampires, their useful idiots are familiars and the middle class their primary food source. You see, there MUST be a middle class or this doesn’t work. Maybe in the short term, but in the long term it falls apart.

"the middle class their primary food source"

Interesting point about the middle class, I hadn't thought of that.

A large group of complacent people with "expendable income" is an excellent "resource."

The wealthy (at least those who earned it) are probably aware of the shenanigans.

The poor have nothing to steal, except their vote.

I my teens I was a Democrat. This was in the early seventies. Of course I was more of a Henry Jackson type than a McGovernite. I had noticed the change taking place, especially the “heavy head trip”, and started asking the question:

Has a liberal become someone who stabs you in the back, cuts you off at the knees, then says with that annoying condescending tone “We’re doing this for your own good”?

The problem we have is that Pubbie candidates cannot articulate the antithesis of the article. They talk about correcting the economy and lowering taxes etc. The pubbies seem to be unable to articulate that a vibrant economy is the result of freedom not the cause. Taxes are bad because they are direct thefts of your life, that is your time and property. And this is just a few of the ideas we need to promulgate. Remember the Morning in America commercial? What did that ad speak to?

Good article.

But the worst part of liberalism is it is winning. (it doesn’t win every battle but when it comes to the war, on most issues, it is consistently gaining ground)

I hate using the word “liberalism” to describe leftism. Because “liberals” (leftists) are anything but liberal in the original sense of the word.

Aside from that quibble, good piece. Leftism is godlessness. Even when the leftists claim to be religious, their leftist faith comes first and is the lens through which everything else is refracted.

Our biggest problem is that the GOP careerists are largely Godless too. For them its all just marketing. Positioning yourself for market share. For them having fixed principles just makes their job of electing people that much harder and means people like us, the GOP base, are a problem to be circumvented whenever possible.

Liberalism is an ideology of parasites, hypocrites, grievance mongers, victims, and control freaks. Like a tick, liberalism latches onto a victim and sucks him dry

Succinctly encapsulating liberalism. Too bad all of that won't fit in a tag line.

Bravo, John Hawkins! Talk about nailing it.

I hate liberalism because it makes people suffer.

I should have read all the comments before I changed my tag line at #34, now I’ll have to change it again.

Found another good tag line within the article:

“Liberalism empties treasuries, blackens souls, and decimates everything it touches”
