Is NK being run by triumvirate or a now non-puppet version of a communist politburo? It will be interesting to see which way a new regime turns - towards unification with South Korea or perhaps puppet state/provincial status vis-a-vis China.

Nobody knows for sure at this point. He must be out for extended period of time. Whatever the reason is, if he is out for that long, his power would leak.

Hwang Pyong-so is already the undisputed No 2 from all appearances. When Kim Jong-il is alive, he made sure that nobody is the undisputed No 2, who could challenge his power. So that fact alone could spell trouble for Kim jong-un.

Apparently NK put out new story on Kim's absence, according to Reuters.

In short, he is in firm control. He just hurt his leg. But he will be out for "100 days." Could be true or another lame story to cover up the real situation.
