N.J. medical board revokes abortion doctor's license

The state’s physician disciplinary board tonight revoked the license of Steven C. Brigham, a controversial doctor accused of skirting state rules by starting the process of late-term abortions with five women in his South Jersey office, and ordering them to drive to his Maryland clinic where the procedure was finished.

Finding several counts of gross negligence, deception and official misconduct against him, the state Board of Medical Examiners also ordered Brigham to pay $140,000 in penalties. At a future hearing, the board will decide how much of the state's court costs he will be ordered to pay; the tab is expected to exceed $500,000.

The board suspended Brigham’s license in 2010 after the Attorney General's Office argued he used the two-state process to evade New Jersey’s requirement that terminating pregnancies must take place in a hospital or licensed health care facility after 14 weeks. Brigham did not have hospital privileges at the time and is not an obstetrician or a gynecologist.

Brigham’s attorney Joseph Gorrell described his client as a devoted physician who felt compelled to fill the void for late-term abortion services after George Tiller, a family doctor in Kansas, was shot to death in May 2009. Tiller had been the only physician east of Colorado willing to perform late-term abortions in the country.  After consulting with an attorney to make sure what he was going to do was legal, Brigham began in the fall of 2009 offering second- and third-trimester abortions for women, Gorrell said. He did the procedures without charge for women who had been raped or were victims of incest.

Here that, all you "safe & legal" hangers-on?!?! He's not even a REAL DOCTOR!

Oh, gee, did I say hangers? No pun intended, though it's true that modern abortionists are the same ole, same ole outcast, back-alley freaks from back in the "unsafe" days. They're still unsafe, just "legal".

He was in NY before this, ran into probs there, NY declined to prosecute and here he is again.

SNIP:
A New Jersey doctor charged with murder last week for performing several late-term abortions in Maryland had once operated an abortion clinic in Albany County at which state investigators discovered 17 frozen fetuses in 1996.

The discovery was part of a broader investigation by the New York attorney general's office, which declined to pursue criminal charges related to allegations that late-term abortions, in violation of New York's fetal homicide law, were being performed at the Colonie clinic then owned by Dr. Steven Chase Brigham. ...

...John Meekins, a former assistant attorney general who worked the case... headed a regional Medicaid fraud unit for the attorney general. He said there was little consideration by his office to turning over the fetal abortion case to the Albany County district attorney's office. Meekins said he encountered political pressure against the investigation from the Albany Democratic machine, including a judge who had ties to the Colonie clinic's landlord.

He is a real doctor, having graduated from Columbia’s medical school but he only did one year of an internal medicine residency. His license was suspended in at least 6 different states. I think he is evil, in his desire to kill babies and wound women.

Thanks to this decision, 8 abortion mills in NJ may be closed, let us thank God for this blessing in NJ, we are making incremental steps in this movement against satan and this evil. It was only through his greed and his failure to follow the law that his license was suspended, NJ is still a pro-abortion state that allows partial birth abortions.

Last Sunday was Respect Life Sunday in the Catholic Church, e mailing friends, I unfortunately found out that many priests did not talk about abortion at Mass last Sunday, October 5. Pray for our priests, and pray for our legislature, many of whom are Catholic and pro-abortion, pray for life.

Steven Brigham! Good! Thanks be to God. Brigham has left a trail of injured women in 6 or 7 states and has had his license revoked in state after state. It seems he always just narrowly escapes criminal prosecution.

He's still back-alley. It's just that he has a string of front offices .

I can't fathom why this guy hasn't been shot dead by some woman whose organs he mangled --- let alone some furious grieving father of a butchered baby. If they can't be sufficiently disinfected and exorcised, his facilities should get the wrecking ball. They are spiritual Ebola slashery/hatcheries.
