Sorry, Rush - that is completely false.
Romney got 985,000 more votes than McCain.
Romney got 47.20% of the popular vote.
McCain got 45.65%.
Rush, and millions of other Conservatives, are confused because 4.2 million white voters stayed home in 2012.
So, where did the white voters go?
(1) Barack Obama lost 5.5 million white voters in 2012.
(2) Romney gained 1.4 million white voters in 2012.
As far as I know, I'm the only person in the world who has down the basic math on this AND used the final certified vote totals and exit polls.
Almost all the people who claim 4 million Republicans stayed home in 2012 used unverified data collected on election day.
