SEABROOK — A 13-year-old Seabrook boy has been hospitalized for roughly a week in Boston due to paralysis and other symptoms his doctors believe may be connected to enterovirus D68, severe cases of which have been reported across the country since August. Patrick Dugan said his son Dan was brought last week to an intensive care unit at Tufts Medical Center after Dan’s legs gave out multiple times following weeks of headaches, coughing, vomiting, weakness and double vision. Those symptoms were followed by paralysis in Dan’s lower extremities and left shoulder as well as indications of spinal cord nerve damage, according to his father. The Dugan family hasn’t left Dan’s side since his hospitalization and are trying to stay optimistic as doctors attempt to confirm whether the symptoms have in fact been caused by EV-D68.

Find out if the kid had a flu shot recently....that predates ALL his symptoms.

I’d find out if he’s been forced into contact with newly settled Central American illegal kids, either in class or sports.

That is confusing. Maybe stupid reporter tricks. Probably should have read days instead of weeks.

Do you remember when reporters would have been all over a “mystery illness” that is sweeping the nation? Reporters would have been doggedly tracking down the mystery. But not today! Today, mainstream media (read: liberal) reporters look like the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” monkeys when it comes to EV-D-68. Here is a clue: although on a few dozen cases have been reported in the USA over the past few decades, it is endemic in Central America. Here is another clue: over the spring and summer, tens of thousands of illegal aliens were encouraged to cross the border, knowing that they would not be turned back. Instead, they were taken to “relocation centers” by the Border Patrol agents who in the olden days, actually patrolled the border and stopped invaders. Here is another clue: the kids not only were not screened for communicable diseases, but our agents and medical personnel at these relocation centers were coming down with all kinds of illnesses, including drug-resistant TB. Did the CDC swing into action? NO! Instead, the agents and medical personnel were ordered to shut up, or lose their jobs. Remember, all you hotshot reporters? Now, do you have a few dots to connect, on your way to a Pulitzer Prize? Oh, forget it. The Pulitzer is only given to left-wing crusaders. And in any event, this story about the origin of D-68 will be ruthlessly suppressed until after the election in a month. Then wait, when finally, a few reporters will dare to connect the dots and figure out the “mystery” of D-68.
