You could have just left it as:
“Federalism Is No Longer”
Gays and liberals have won the legal battle.
But they will find most people will never grant same sex marriage moral legitimacy.
It will roil our politics just like with abortion. If people believe something is wrong, no law can ever make it just or right.
I don't think that is necessarily going to be a bad thing, either.
So we need an amendment for same-sex heterosexual marriages?
I would have loved to get my dad’s pension.
Writing for the majority, Justice Anthony Kennedy spent seven pages making the point that marriage law has always been the province of the states, only to veer away from federalism toward an argument based on equal protection and "the liberty protected by the Due Process Clause."
Kennedy has turned out to be "the queer Justice" that a lot of people thought Souter would turn out to be.
Any gay outrage, insult, or laceration to the body politic that comes up, Kennedy is right there for the offenders.
They must give terrific DC parties.
The author in this is completely and utterly 100% wrong with respect to the 14th amendment...this amendment dealt with a single and ONLY ONE ISSUE period! Slavery! It was in support of the 13th and the one following 15th...to pervert it in any other fashion is laughable at best
Just keep voting. That will restore republican freedom. Honest.
