The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports Councilman Stanley Chang and Council Chairman Ernie Martin decided to withdraw the proposal after hearing from the public.
The councilmen last week introduced a resolution to change the name of Sandy Beach Park to President Barack Obama Sandy Beach Park.
It must have seemed like a good idea at the time. But the councilmen discovered that their constituents are no longer enthusiasts.
How humiliating for Obama! What’s next? Bo the presidential dog shunning his company?
After six years of his presidency, Barack Obama has become an anathema, a “historic first” president too radioactive to name stuff after, even in Democrat-dominated places like Hawaii and Chicago. First, Chicago dropped plans to name a school after him, and now his native Hawaii has dropped a plan to name a beach – one where he body surfed as a child – after him. AP reports:

When I visited South Africa, I had a tour guide ( the friend of my in-law ), who told me that everything in south Africa is named MANDELA.
Mandela school, Mandela street, Mandela avenue, Mandela stadium, Mandela hospital, Mandela this and Mandela that.
Heck, he could have sworn a toilet was named after Mandela ( he remarked with exasperation ).

Probably afraid of the masses using it as a toilet for decades to come.
Maybe we should go back to the old naming system, in which we didn’t name places after people until after they had passed away?
There is a Barack Obama school in Prince George’s County Maryland. And probably other places named after him too.
Anybody else remember, at one time, it was just not done, to name a place after someone who was still living?

There’s a place near Sandy’s called “the Blowhole”. They could name that after Obama.
Choom Beach would have been more appropriate.
So there is hope that one day the Pittsburgh Public School named Obama may one day be renamed after Ben Roethlisberger?

…I thought he was studying Constitutional Law on the beach? Or was he teaching Constitutional Law on the beach? Oh I know!! He was conducting marine biology on the beach. That’s where he 1st parted water. It was to save a rare mollusk, found only in remote portions of Hawaii. Today, that mollusk is thriving and is in no danger of extinction! Which wouldn’t be the case if it weren’t for his highn ass.

Seems like there is a news report citing another place as being his fatherland.
Appropriately, he's got a spider, lizard and parasitic worm named after him. At the bottom it states that Midway airport has a name change proposal to name it after this scumbag. It was renamed after the Battle of Midway in 1949.
