Black flags over Kobani: We are losing this war because ISIS is all in and we're not.

Islamic State forces have entered some eastern neighborhoods of the strategic Kurdish city of Kobani on Tuesday as American planes hit targets around the city in support of Kurdish fighters defending the enclave.

AP reported the ISIS black flag flying over several buildings in the city.

Using armor and artillery, ISIS made significant gains against the lightly armed Kurds, who have been pleading with the world for help in order to prevent a genocide.

BBC:

Fighting between Islamic State (IS) militants and Syrian Kurds is reported to have spread to a southern district of the town of Kobane on the Turkish border, as US-led air strikes continue.

But fighting in the town was less intense than on Monday, when IS took control of three districts in the east.

Witnesses report several loud explosions and plumes of smoke from coalition air strikes.

More than 160,000 Syrians, mainly Kurds, have fled Kobane recently.

If IS captures the town, its jihadists will control a long stretch of the Syrian-Turkish border.

In the latest clashes, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) activist group said IS had crossed into a southern district of Kobane, taking over many buildings.

However, the group said heavy fighting had forced IS to pull back in eastern districts. It also suggested many IS fighters had been killed in an ambush by Syrian Kurdish fighters.

At least 400 people have been killed in three weeks of fighting for Kobane, according to the SOHR's latest estimate.

The town is now besieged on three sides.

Turkey, who pledged last week to defend Kobani and prevent it from falling into ISIS hands, is so far, on the sidelines. They have massed some troops and armor on the border opposite the besieged city,

You’re not going to achieve that with the kind of “war” we are waging.

We should not be “all in”. We should not be any in.

Why are we saving Muslims from other Muslims?

Whichever side is victorious they are going to lord it over the rest and there will just be more conflict and probably atrocities and then we will just HAVE TO go in again and save Muslims from other Muslims .... wash, rinse and repeat.

Can we stop this now?

I think Obama wants ISIS to win. Simple as that. He’s just paying lip service here to keep us all in line.

I hate the Turks. They are so obviously on the side of ISIS, and just want them to destroy the Kurds who have been a thorn on their side. After having committed a genocide against the Armenians some years ago, they wouldn’t mind being complicit in another. And these are our so-called allies! With friends like these, who needs enemies? It’s not like they allowed us to fly over Turkey when we were trying to beat up on Saddam. I don’t know why we keep calling them allies and why they are still part of NATO.

Purely geography. Control of the straits connecting the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. Too bad Greece didn't win in the post-WWI war with Turkey and take Constantinople.

When the world wakes up it may be too late. The ISIS tentacles will have spread into every nation in the Middle East as well as all the Western Nations. A few hundred thousand terrorists can put many Nations on their knees. As for America, we have become so weakening under the communists black Muslim that it will sting.
