Not that I think it would happen but if one state refused to honor the decision, whats the worst that could happen?
What if Oklahoma said “No...you do not have the right to overturn our Constitution.”
You do not have authority over this issue.
Period.
Might get real interesting real fast.
Oklahoma receives billions in federal dollars. Obama would make a friendly call to the governor and remind him where social security checks come from. A state must achieve financial independence from Washington before it can start saying no to the black robbed tyrants.
Ha, good joke!
Here in WI, Walker and the state AG folded like cheap suits. Don't wanna make them independents and moderates mad, you know. Gotta play it safe so we can "win."
Then you would see the REAL SCOTUS. The corporate backed, screw the Constitution take no prisoners SCOTUS. They would approve government sanctions of record proportion. They would hold State officials in contempt.
That is the very short list. It would be devastating for the State.
But, like you said, it won’t happen.
Arkansas said that to the federal courts about desegregation in the 1950s. (No, I am not comparing desegregation to gay marriage, I am just talking about what happens when a state defies a federal court order). President Eisenhower sent in federal troops to enforce the federal court order. Arkansas folded quickly.
I have felt that way for years....everyone seems to have lost the ability to say go to hell to people who come up with inane decisions......do it, or else......O.K., or else what????
