I seem to recall that about a decade ago, the big feminist empowerment schtick was something called the “V_____ monologues”, which reduced women to nothing more than ambulatory genitals.
I also remember the bra-burning of the late 1960s/early 1970s, which was supposed to demonstrate that women are not sex objects.
“Feminists” are all over the place on this.
Among the over-60s, the biggest feminists I know are in long term marriages, have never worked a real job and are financially quite comfortable, due to their husband’s income and their father’s estates. Their feminism has seemed to me be centered on their own ability to have extra-marital relationships and to shill for female democrat candidates. They are the least oppressed people I know.
