U.S. Rep. Ralph Hall, 91, was hospitalized in stable condition after a car accident Saturday afternoon in Fannin County.
Hall, the oldest member of Congress, was taken by helicopter to Medical Center of Plano with serious injuries, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Mark Tackett.
A representative for the hospital said Hall was in stable condition.
He was conscious and joking with paramedics while he was being taken to the hospital, according to a written statement from his Washington, D.C., office.
Congressman Hall suffered a hip injury and minor cuts and bruises but is expected to make a full recovery, said Ed Valentine, an adviser to the congressman.
The accident happened about 3 p.m. when a car turned in front of Halls on State Highway 121 in the town of Trenton.

Since 1980 ,, A WW2 veteran, one of two still on the Hill.
He was a passenger.
It was his lucky day.. Again. ;-)
Ralph Hall is a credit to the Texas Fourth unlike the more widely known marxist ‘RAT who “represented” the area from 1913-1961, the vile Sam Rayburn. It’s disgusting that a freeway in our state is named in “honor” of that vile DemonRAT. God Bless Ralph Hall and may he get well soon.
Not necessarily. There are a 1000 very bad things that can happen to a hospitalized, bedridden 90 year old.It would take a while to explain but it's true.
He may meet a young blonde nurse, who knows, not sure of his marital status, but.. Hospitals are still a hot place to meet chic!
Had to go past several other ERs to get to that hospital. Not sure it would have been my first choice. Maybe he said ‘Don’t take me to Presbyterian’ thinking of the ebola friendly ER at Presbyterian Dallas, so they bypassed Presbyterian Allen and didn’t consider Presbyterian Plano. The suburban Baylors weren’t any closer, but there is a hospital in McKinney that would have been a lot closer. I’m less familiar with Sherman/Dennison, but they should have been closer, as well.
The closest hospital would be the one in Denison. Next closest, Medical Center of McKinney. MC Plano is a long way from Trenton. Baylor also has a hospital in McKinney at Hwy 380 and FM 1461. It makes no sense that they went that far with him. And, yes, the poster is right that they would have gone right by Presby Allen too. Although, that isn’t an ER I would consider using for a MVA victim.
Plano Medical Center is a designated trauma center. Perhaps that is why they took him there. I live right next to that particular hospital and the helicopters are coming in all day long. And all night long too.
If he’s in a hospital in Dallas, it may not be his lucky day.
Is he a Republican?
They lifeflighted him. Do the passed hospitals have landing pads? (I am guessing since it is Texas, they do, but we have at least one hosptial here in Portland that does not so I do not assume all do.) Once you are in a helicopter all of the hospitals are about the same distance.
To answer the question just above. Yes he is a Republican.
As I said previously, the hospital he was care-flighted to is a trauma center. While some of the other hospitals mentioned also have helipads, they are not trauma centers.
Ralph Hall was my rep for years, he was a Democrat for years, but the area he represented is heavily conservative so he switched parties to be sure of re-election. That being said, he was more a moderate Democrat than a raving lunatic like some.
well, Ralph has a street in Rockwall named after him. Ralph Hall Pkwy. It’s a start.......
