The folks here in Washington can't seem to get enough of the galactically stupid, but endearingly communist Patty Murray, so I can empathize.
Mitt Romney was right. Somewhere north of 40% of voters only care about stuff they can get for free from the government; bread and circuses. I don’t think they care who the Democrat candidate is, they vote for the ‘D’ for the handouts, period.
