The Roanoke Times looked into this and wants to know if you think Sarah Palin is dumb.

McAuliffe vs. Cuccenelli was the one race in the country last year that was decided by the government -not- shut down, yet even here , responsibility for the loss hung on social conservatism. So now , VA AG opines that abortion clinics not required to report rapes of minors.

Virginia slides away into the corruption machine that is Washington. Northern Virginia is now just an extension of Fedzilla and votes the Leftist line.

Gee. Virginia decided to elect a person whom ample evidence indicates is a crook. And lo and behold, his gubernatorial period is one scandal after another. Who could have seen this coming?

That’s why the TEA snap-back unseating Cantor was so distressing to the elites.. they thought they had the Old Dominion In The Can.

I hope all our tossup guys are following Dave Brat’s campaign model!

I live in (still)solidly red rural central Virginia. I was banned from commenting on my local news website simply for referring to McAuliffe as corrupt.

The MSM has declared a willingness to hide corruption when the Democrats are behind it. Maybe the D’s know this is a window of opportunity to plunder the public treasury that may not remain open forever, and they’re making hay while the sun shines.

The MSM is still silent on McAuliffe’s involvement with a so called “green” car company in NW Mississippi just South of Memphis. McAuliffe was the main CEO and the company received several hundred million for a “green” car and then went bankrupt in less than a year. Employees that worked there told Memphis media that they disassembled and reassembled a half dozen cars several times to make it look as if they were busy. This happened before he was elected the Dumbocrat Governor of Virginia.

"That such a man should be anywhere near a seat that, at various points and in one form or another has been held by Sir Walter Raleigh, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe, is, historically speaking, rather distressing. That he should be the second governor in a year to find himself embroiled in a scandal does not bode well for the future."
Before his death, Thomas Jefferson left explicit instructions regarding the monument to be erected over his grave.  In this document (undated), Jefferson supplied a sketch of the shape of the marker, and the epitaph with which he wanted it to be inscribed:

"...on the faces of the Obelisk the following inscription, & not a word more:

Here was buried
Thomas Jefferson
Author of the Declaration of American Independence
of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom
& Father of the University of Virginia

"because by these," he explained, "as testimonials that I have lived, I wish most to be remembered."

How far the nation and state have departed from the principles and ideas of the Declaration of Independence, as well as "the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom," attests to the conditions they find themselves in today.

Jefferson wrote that the ideas of the Declaration were the expressions of what he called the "American mind" of 1776.

"Ideas have consequences." - Weaver

Green Tec Automotive was a scam on a grand scale pulled off in the traditional McAuliffe/Clinton style in which they pocketed tons of cash arranged by establishment Republican insider Hailey Barbour.

The essentially fake car they produced to scam investors and pull down HUGE green grants from the government was essentially a golf cart with facsimile fiberglass body shells.

The car company is dead, but the game of scamming government and fleecing voters rolls on!

Absolutely! Making sure a "libertarian" or conservative 'sounding' "Independent" is on the ballot and giving them enough funding to cause 'trouble' is central to the planning of nearly every race in VA for the dems. It normally works well for them too! One would think voters would be smart enough to realize what the dems are up to.
