Canada to launch airstrikes in Iraq

TORONTO — Canada plans to launch airstrikes against the Islamic State militant group in Iraq following a U.S. request, a senior government official said. Prime Minister Stephen Harper was set to announce details later Friday.

Where are all these airstrikes being launched from? I know we have carrier based aircraft but I’m pretty sure Canada doesn’t.

Benton Fraser and Inspector Thatcher of the RCMP could just get a few surplus British swordfish biplanes and sail on that replica of the HMS Bounty.

If I recall correctly, the Swordfish was instrumental in enabling the sinking of the Bismarck. From what I read it flew so slow that the German targeting system kept firing too far ahead of them thus letting them fire their torpedo’s that jammed the rudder.
