I hope this isn't a redundant post. I did a search but didn't find this story on FR yet.

I could see some ex GIs going over to help the Kurds. That would not surprise me.

CNN is undoubtedly aware that ISIS had called for U. S. troop's families to be attacked in the U. S.
Knowing this, CNN decides it's a craker barrel idea to identify a man that is aiding the Kurds against ISIS.
One of the Americans was identified by the Kurdish People's Protection Units, also known as the YPG, as Jordan Matson of Wisconsin.
Whoever came up with the decision to do this, should be fired. If something happens to this guy's family, perhaps they should be taken out and shot.

"A person claiming to be a friend of Matson's told Reuters that Matson told people he was being hired by a private army to fight ISIS...Matson was previously in the U.S. military...The U.S. military confirmed a man by the name of Jordan Matson enlisted in the Army in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and served from May 2006 to November 2007." I wonder what private army is hiring U.S. soldiers to fight with the Kurds? And why they targeted someone who had only been in the U.S. Army for 1 1/2 years? And what caused Matson's premature departure from his Army service?
As others have already said, CNN and Reuters could only have one purpose in mind by exposing this guy's name and home town. They should be prosecuted.

The Kurds, like the Israelis, also have women fighting alongside the men against ISIS.

The State Department, always on the ball, says that it heard of stories of Americans fighting with the Peshmerga.
The State Department also said that they heard stories that the Japanese Fleet was heading towards Pearl Harbor.

Now if the Kurds just had a few nice cargo containers full of American ordnance and supplies shipped directly to them on a regular basis, we might actually see the backs of DAESH (ISIS) in Kurdistan.

I have been looking. If the Kurds made it EASIER, the number would jump from 3 to 3,000 in two weeks. All they would have to do is house, feed, and create a way for weapons and ammo to be transported in.
That would do it for me. Have gun, will travel. This is the fight of our generation. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?
