I know you can buy Amos and Andy online,
Every Black person I've known would bust out in hysterical laughter at the mere mention of this show. Back in 1983 there was an excellent documentary made "Amos n Andy, Anatomy of a Controversy" narrated by George Kirby. In it Jesse Jackson surprisingly said he never really found anything wrong with it because it reminded him of some of the people he grew up around in Chicago, and that show opened doors for Bill Cosby, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. And not only Blacks. Jackie Gleason, in one of his last TV appearances said it was Amos n Andy that gave him the inspiration for the Honeymooners.

I appreciate the comments. I didn’t know most of that. It was good to hear.

I don’t believe the guys came off polished enough for some Leftists. Therefore it had to be racist.

Look at Jackie Gleason. Look at the apartment he and Alice lived in. It was very meager. That’s what it was like back then.

Amos and Andy were just common blacks that carried on like that. It wasn’t a put-down. People were more simple back then.

What most people don’t realize, is that even Jackie Kennedy wasn’t the bright shining star she was depicted to be. She had supposed attended the best university, was raised in the New England upper crust society. She was our queen from Camelot.

And then someone came up with the bright idea to showcase her presenting a tour of part of the White House. Here was a woman frozen by the cameras sounding like one of the biggest simpletons around.

Was that racist? LOL
