So why isn’t there a mandatory quarantine of everyone arriving here from Africa?

(And what happens when our troops come home?)

I say let it happen in Mexico.

When H1N1 shut the country down in 2007 I never stood in line for a thing.

Had breakfast at McDonald’s outside Cancun and we were the only cutomers for 45 minutes.

No waiting for zip lines, cenote, Xcaret, nothing.

Had the beach to ourselves.

Had a great time and if they declare again I’m hoping on a boat @ Puerto Aventuras and going across to Cozumel and go diving.

Ariba!!!

And another possible case in Utah.

Still no peep out of the doctor who was being monitored and then admitted to Bethesda on Saturday. He fell off the grid when Dallas hit the headlines. Maybe not to alarm The Hill causing them to take action.

Anyone getting the idea that Ebola isn’t so hard to catch?

I am counting the days to see what happens in Dallas. It should be 4 to 6 days away, taking the middle range of symptoms showing after exposure. Patient 0 became ill on the 26th, about 10 days after exposure to the young woman in Liberia.

I also fully expect the “partner” and the three youths living with her to succumb, given that they must stay in that apartment, and the dirty sheets, etc. are all still in there.

and the dirty sheets, etc. are all still in there.”

What they are saying on the news: people staying in same apartment with infected guy are in mandatory lock down and police are posted outside to make sure they don’t leave. People in hazmet suits have gone into apartment and removed all the guy’s bedding, trash, towels, etc. and are disinfecting the whole place. Other people are bringing them food.

Two issues with the people who live in this area. They speak as many as 8 different languages - you just thought English was our language, right? Medical care facilities are running out of masks. Apparently only one manufacturer left in the U.S. and they are somewhere in northern Texas. Small crew but they can hire people and crank up production relatively quickly. China ordered bunch of masks from them and DOD reportedly has asked them for quote. Just one of the problems we are going to encounter by sending our manufacturing outside the U.S. but unlike some other things we use, this could have a direct effect on our ability to keep people healthy.

Thank God this guy was able to downsize yet still maintain the ability to provide protective equipment otherwise we would be SOL.

When did they send in the hazmat teams?

I heard, this morning, that the stuff was still in there, but that his “partner” had tried to clean with bleach (not sure regular household bleach is strong enough) - and that she was complaining that she didn’t have anything to eat in the house.

Doesn’t sound good to me.
