Whether Cruz is “allowed” more power, or not, is not the issue. If he plays his cards right, he can be more effective as a member of the majority party, than as a member of the minority party.

The way politics in Kentucky works if she gets elected you’ll probably have her for the rest of your natural born life.

I don’t think you realize how seriously I mean my tag line. We have not long to go, as far as I’m concerned.

It’s one of the apologist big arguments for acceding to the GOPE lash once again and it’s a total fallacy. We have seen how the majority GOPE has been effective in the House since 2011, the result nothing.

Power in the Senate is based on seniority, so Conservatives would gain positions of power.

The House by itself has little power — it’s 1/6 of the gov’t, if that, in this century.

But, I was not talking about the GOPe. The issue is whether conservatives like Cruz can have more impact in the Senate, and overall, if the Senate is Republican. I already know what he would tell you.

-- The question is whether McConnell will draw money away from other, closer races. --

I would speculate "yes" to that. Both he and the GOP are deeply invested in preserving his elected position. He has priority over all the other races. The more the DEMs spend in KY, the more the GOP will spend in response.
