I am 55. My whole family was military and I enlisted at 17 and was placed at the pointy end of the nuclear spear. My duty was intense and consisted of lots of mental work, constant testing, and stress. When I was off duty I could not relate to girls my age as they were still talking and acting out their high school garbage while I knew what was really happening in the real world.

My duty shaped my entire way of life and thinking and I finally found a woman who was also in the service and very smart. Even though few people serving, including her, had any idea what we Combat Crews did she learned fast and understood me.

If I had to find another woman she would have to be nearly my age and smart because she would have to figure out why I think and act the way I do. If she had not lived through the Cold War she would probably not have a frame of reference to even begin to understand me.

A mid 20s young woman? Oh God no.......never.

A 25 year old girl was born in 1989.

The Berlin Wall was broken in November, 1989.

That 25 year old girl grew up in a very different world from the would you and I grew up in.
