The only way to learn the multiplication tables is by rote memorization. 3rd grade students had to memorize the entire set from 1x1 to 12x12 when I was a kid. I have heard some places went as high as 15x15.................

My kids found an app from India that goes up to 20X20. I figure they’re young and have plenty of spare brain cells right now. Why not...

When I was a girl, a DAILY homework assignment was multiplication tables (1-12) 10 times each. DAILY.

One day, our class got into trouble with the teacher — don’t ask me what we did; I don’t remember, but it must have been a doozy. Anyway, instead of our usual “10 times each” homework assignment, our teacher added a little something extra: We had to do the multiplication tables IN ROMAN NUMERALS.

BTW, wild horses couldn’t get me to forget my multiplication tables. Oh, and the “geniuses” that came up with CC Math are clearly insane.

Regards,
