After Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah was penalized for "going to the ground" and engaging in an Islamic prayer after returning a Tom Brady interception for a touchdown on Monday Night Football, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) pressured the NFL to "clarify its policies" on "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalties.

"CAIR Asks For Clarification Before NFL Announces Player Shouldn't Have Been Penalized For Muslim Prayer"
If Tebow had done this, he’d be suspended indefinitely.
Yet Tim Tebow knelt to pray a number of times in his brief NFL career.
I’m surprised the bench didn’t throw him a prayer rug? What color will teams have to wear for muslim month?
Maybe I’m wrong on this, but always thought it was from the sidelines. My impression is that it did not hold up the game.
” What color will teams have to wear for muslim month?”
I say green the color or the “prophet” himself. And reserved for him alone.
> “CAIR Asks For Clarification Before NFL Announces Player Shouldn’t Have Been Penalized For Muslim Prayer”
For what purpose? To bring more attention to it so the leftists will support Islam and continue building a relationship between them so that they can curry favor and support? It’s too bad the idiot leftists don’t understand that they’re being lied to and manipulated so the Muslims can continue to gain a foothold in America then later be enslaved or killed by them when their usefulness has run out...
Did Tebow ever “Tebow” on the playing field, or only on the sidelines?
To my un-Islamized eye, there was nothing in the player’s posture to indicate he was “praying.” It simply appeared to me he was “doin’ the doggie.” I doubt the ref saw it any differently.
NFL > cowards. They couldn’t stick to their penalty of him sliding and say it wasn’t the prayer.
They're just being good little dhimmis.
Im surprised that CAIR...doesn’t complain when Husain gets Tackled.....claiming Persecution of their vaunted mooselim brother.
I believe it did not at all hold up any games, period.
How long until the referee is not only fired, but subjected to a public flogging?
FIRST, liSTEN to the representatives from Cair, before giving them standing to challenge ANYONE.
The Muslims who laid their Prayer rugs on Madison Ave in NYC and blocked traffic for hours shouldn’t be fined they should be put in Jail for 6 Months. They are without any care for the rest of the community in their actions.
They don’t recognise civil norms of behavior..
The rule about not penalizing a religious expression is pretty much a Tebow-inspired rule.
That said, the NFL has decided it needs to clamp down on excessive celebrations (right or wrong, that's the decision they've made), and as much as it pains me to side with CAIR, they need to clarify the rule as to where "religious expression" ends and "excessive" begins. In this particular case, the knee slide wasn't a necessary part of the religious expression, and despite the NFL's after-the-fact comments, I think the ref was therefore within the bounds of his personal judgement to penalize it, but it's subjective enough that some rules clarification might help.
Has CAIR explained how a muslim can handle a pigskin ball?
Good question.
YO, cair, POUND SAND!
I watched the video replay and have seen bigger celebrations from players who tackle the QB or interrupt a pass play.
The NFL admitted that the call was wrong, that the activity should not have warranted a penalty.
In this situation, the ref is the one who made the error.
