Apparently I know more about it than.you. I followed events in Hong Kong closely at the time. The so-called protests of which you speak were a joke, drawing only a handful of protestors at a time. Most residents were positively joyous at the prospect of reuniting with the mainland, and equally joyous to be rid of the Brits. Screw ‘em. Let them live under communism if they prefer it. I hope they get a good taste of it.
