A six-year-old Missouri boy battling terminal cancer served as captain of a local football team last weekend, and scored a touchdown with the help of some teammates.

When he was just 3-years-old, doctors diagnosed Liam Myrick with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. Since then, Liam has undergone 14 rounds of intravenous chemotherapy, two bone marrow transplants, 20 rounds of radiation, six rounds of oral chemotherapy and nine major surgeries, Shawna Myrick, his mother, told FoxNews.com.

“...stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma...”

Time is short to squeeze a lot in, I’d guess.

“Time is short to squeeze a lot in, I’d guess.”

Of course.

I was just surprised that football was available for kids that young.

From the article’s pic, it looks as though he’s an ‘honorary captain’ and not really playing; just gets a 15yd TD so he can experience the thrill. The other boys in uniform look several years older and bigger. I don’t know what the age classes are these days, having grown up in the 50s.

Little kid’s been thru a lot, with chemo, radiation and surgery. Doubt I could do it.
