I am reminded of what happened to my friends in Farmington NM back in 1977. The snow pack was way down and water rationing was in force. Your allocation was based on your last three month’s usage.

When he bought his house that month, it had been vacant for the last three months. He was not happy.

On the edge of the ocean, a desalination plant would work fine.

The “allocating” will be for the peasants of course.

Yes. Your water ration permit will fit in nicely with your food permit, your gasoline permit, and your electricity permit in the back of your internal transit passport.

What you probably see are folks who long for the color green as opposed to desert tan...and some folks just either don’t take the time to adjust their sprinklers properly or may not be aware of a broken sprinkler head...carelessness.

I had a USAF officer butt into a conversation I was having some years back when new Edwards AFB housing at the time included front and back grass lawns instead of desert landscaping like Nellis AFB had mandated...he was perturbed that I was perturbed about that.

He said it was important to have folks “feel” like they were somewhere familiar...I replied that if they wanted “familiar”, then maybe joining the military wasn’t such a bright idea. Needless to say, he didn’t like my “insubordination”, but I didn’t like his butting into a conversation I was having with another fella either.

What many also fail to remember is that CA has a very high population of transplants who are used to green lawns...

For me, the question arises. What happens to our water rates when water usage goes so far down that the rates are no longer capable of sustaining the infrastructure and wages? Never mind, I know...rate increases!

There is an ad running right now that says half of the water used is sent into the ocean by environmentalists. At least I think it says half. Anyway when they stop doing that I’ll conserve water. When they run off all the illegals and their spawn I’ll start conserving water. Til then they can talk to the hand.

Politician's water bottle.

Peasant's water bottle.

Absolutely right. It happened before. We had a similar drought in the late 80's. Reduced usage was mandated and the water companies had to and did raise rates.

This is Tennessee, not the peoples communist republic of Mexifornia.

I would like to do the same thing, hubby is going to build me a large waist high platform for my green beans this spring. I can no longer bend over to harvest well. We found you could use those plastic kiddie wading pools for planters if you put a few holes in the bottoms. It will produce enough for the 2 of us.

And since I can no longer digest a lot of raw stuff there is no sense growing it.

“Levity aside, this is scary stuff. “You flushed two extra times today, comrade. That puts you over the weekly limit....”.

All resulting from the mismanagement of the water supply in the interest of the delta smelt......Big government utopia is almost upon us.
