A glorious match made in Russia
Index - Hungary ^ | Sept 28 | DEZSŐ ANDRÁS

For months I investigated the past of Jobbik EP-representative and suspected spy, Béla Kovács, and his Russian wife, Svetlana Istoshina, and by the end I had the feeling of being part of a spy movie: I stumbled on parallel marriages, secret Japanese and Austrian husbands and mysterious trips, and I also managed to loosen the tongues of several former KGB-agents.

Kovács and his wife concealed facts about their lives that eventually revealed that the Russian secret service was one of the bonds holding the family in one piece. While breaking the spy story in the middle of the election campaign appeared to be a ploy by the government to compromise Jobbik, there is increasing evidence that Kovács and his wife are no small fry:

the politician has been known to the KGB almost from the day he was born and in the 1980s the organization recruited him through his wife. His political career starting in the early 2000s must also have benefited the Russians.

Great song. A lot of truth:
“Nothing seemed the way it used to be”

Good article, thanks for posting.

Two things stand out; one, the shallowness of American reporting and mass media by comparison and two, that a story with this topic about an American politician simply would never see the light of day here.

Human nature is immutable, prominent Americans are not immune to subornation covert or otherwise, see the Day by Day web comic for 9/29/14, sigh.

The use of multiple identities over time by operatives was always prominent in Soviet spy craft, this Hungarian’s wife certainly fits the pattern.

I recall lots of books and articles during the Cold War detailing the methods of the Soviet security services in all it’s iterations from the Cheka on, going back to the Spanish Civil War and even earlier.

Some of the figures of Soviet intel were absolutely protean, turning up with various names / ‘legends’, from Spain to China to Eastern Europe from the 20s to the 50s.

Cut-outs, false flags, infiltration, front orgs, agents of influence in business, politics, education, culture and entertainment and all the fellow travelers, useful idiots and soft heads trailing along.

(Hillary Clinton’s hero Saul Alinsky and his agitprop techniques and of the current Democrat party track precisely with traditional Soviet methods.)

Interesting post. I am reminded of the Oxford student W. F Clinton who over his winter vacation of 1969-1970, toured Moscow. He had been preceded to Moscow by his roommate Strobe Talbott, who was then translating the memoirs of former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev under the watchful eye of Victor Louis, a KGB agent.

It kind of makes one wonder about the rise of Bill Clinton politically and how his wife Hillary has become a presidential contender. That and the stellar and aggressive nature of Putin in the Ukraine and Baltic, kind of make one really consider if the KGB might not have a role in the politics of other countries, even the US.

There can be no doubt of this. Trevour Loudon (you can google for his website) has done a great deal of research investigating the pasts of various Democrats who have ties to communist or KGB front groups, such as Obama himself. I am positive that this is true also for the Republican party as well, especially of those who were ever once communists or left-wingers who came over to our side after a come to Jesus moment.
