There are competing issues here. Which plays best at the polls? And, which comes closer to promoting a favored minority ruling what used to be normal, mostly white, America?
For strict racial reasons, a racially active black ... even a "one-drop" black like Holder or Kamala Harris would be preferred. But, I could see it going to a moderate Muslim, or to a Hispanic, or to an LGBTQ specimen. What matters is the completely (to me) opaque weighing process that goes on behind the scenes with ValJar, Obama, and Mooch.
These mind games remind me of stories I've heard of palace intrigue amon the various courtiers in pre-revolutionary France.

If that person (that is a loose term here, person) is black or blackish, okay that’s good, but they have been there, done that already. But the alphabet soup is really an in yo face move.
