The FBI is investigating the beheading of a food distribution plant worker in Oklahoma who was attacked by a colleague that recently tried to convert her to Islam, cops said Friday.
The brutal murder took place shortly after 30-year-old Alton Nolen was fired from his job in Moore on Thursday when he allegedly drove to the front of the Vaughn Foods where he worked, walked inside and began brutally attacking 54-year-old Colleen Hufford with a knife, local TV station KFOR reports.
Co-workers at the plant described a chaotic scene as Nolen shouted Islamic phrases during his attack, KWTV Channel 9 reporter Robin Marsh tweeted Friday.
“During the attack, Nolen severed the victim’s head,” Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said in a statement.
Nolen then aimed his rage towards 43-year-old co-worker, Traci Johnson, and began stabbing her with the same knife he attacked Hufford with, according to KFOR. His onslaught was finally ended when Oklahoma County reserve deputy and former Vaughn Foods CEO Mark Vaughan shot Nolen in mid-attack.
