Emma Watson And The Chamber Of Feminist Conundrums
The Federalist ^ | 25 Sep 2014 | Heather wilhelm

Posted on 09/26/2014 5:26:34 AM PDT by Rummyfan

Just when you thought 2014 couldn’t get any more colorful, this crazy old year went out over the weekend and upped the ante. The starting venue was the United Nations. The topic, you won’t be surprised to hear, was feminism. The speaker, meanwhile, was Emma Watson, a lovely young woman with a charming British accent who also happened to star as Hermione in the “Harry Potter” movies.

Watson now serves as a “United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador,” and she spoke to launch the “HeforShe campaign,” which, according to its website, is “a solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity, for the entirety of humanity.” When you think about it, it sounds nice enough.

The “HeforShe Commitment,” which involves pushing a button online, thereby changing your life trajectory until you maybe forget about said commitment approximately ten minutes later, reads as following: “Gender equality is not only a women’s issue, it is a human rights issue that requires my participation. I commit to take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls.” This pledge, aimed to recruit men to feminism, is placed next to rotating headshots of Barack Obama (the president of the United States), Ban Ki-Moon (the UN secretary general), and Matt Damon (the Most Insufferable Actor in the World, If You Don’t Count Leonardo “I Yacht for a Better Climate” DiCaprio).

Watson kind of needed a giant “FIRST-WORLD PROBLEMS” sign behind her at this UN speech.

Exactly. Complaining that she was called "bossy" as a kid (probably a lie) and whining about not being paid as much as her male counterparts (let's all protest until Emma gets $10 million per movie instead of $8 million) is insane when you think about all the women in the world being raped, killed, forced to wear body bags and generally treated like animals by, uh, certain people. But we all know that Emma would never say that in a UN speech.

From what I could tell, her speech can be boiled down to the following:

“We need men to be part of the conversation. So long as they say what we want them to say.”

I would not be surprised if she was called bossy. So what? If she was called bossy, then perhaps it would be better for her to change her behavior than try to boss the rest of us into not calling her that.

With these feminists, "Its all about MEEEEEEE!". It's all about her and her fellow Global Elite feminists. She probably doesn't even care about working-class women in the US and her native UK, much less those peasants in the Third World.

I don’t allow famous, wealthy, Ivy League educated woman to lecture me on how hard it is to be a woman.

>>This pledge, aimed to recruit men to feminism

So, if I become a feminist, then I can complain about unfairness where there isn’t any, dress inappropriately and love it when the “right” person notices and be offended when everyone else notices, major in stupid things in college and wonder why I can’t find a job that doesn’t involve preparing food or coffee, and just be an unreasonable person with regards to all things?

Where’s the button? I’m pressing it!

Do we all get t-shirts for pressing it that say, “I’m not an a$$hole....I’m a FEMINIST!”

Emma, visit some countries where you’d be lucky if you got paid. Equality? Say your speech in Gaza and see what happens - or try ISIL held territory. They might think it’s so funny they’d lose YOUR head.

Have we forgotten who infests the UN? 95% of it is a load of 5’4” sweaty, balding, creepy “diplomats” who somehow got their governments to pay for them to live in NYC full-time and so their kids can attend school in the States rather than their own Third World hellholes.

These are the pervs who objectify, if not subjugate, women. The ‘goodwill ambassador’ nonsense is merely an excuse to star-gaze up close and it’s hardly an accident that the ambassadors are attractive young Western women.

If supposedly sensible, intelligent Emma Watson wants to fool herself, she’s welcome, but nobody should follow her lead.

The only difference between the UN and drivers in the taxi queue at the airport is the suits.

Ah, because you’ve suffered so much during your short life. No, sorry, Emma, but you’ve fallen from my liked actors list to my not liked. Stick to acting.

In defense of women, she’ll be speaking out against Islam. Soon.

The left totally ignored the important bits of her speech and has since started attacking her for not going far enough with the feminist party line.

What the Media Totally Ignored in Emma Watson’s Gender Equality Speech

“To date, I’ve seen my father’s role being valued less by society despite my needing his presence as a child as much as my mother’s,” she said.”

The remark was glossed over and easily forgiven by the Left, who take issue with the notion that children require both a mother and father.

Perhaps Watson didn’t even realize the stance she was taking, but she said it honestly and no one who disagreed made a peep about it.

She praised men again later in the speech, saying men are victims of inequality too, “imprisoned by gender stereotypes” of aggression, macho-ness and control.

It was fitting–but unexpected–that she chose to highlight how society’s unrealistic expectations for men are important too.

I wonder why these types don’t seem to be outraged by the treatment of women under Islam.

Emma Watson was born in Paris, France, to English parents, Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers.

This explains a lot about why she feels entitled to lecture to the world...

If you all were unaware of it, almost as soon as she was announced, a public relations firm created a hoax that “hackers” were planning to release “stolen nude photos” of her, and aren’t men pigs?

The PR firm didn’t do it directly, but accused the “Anonymous” group of planning to do it. But the PR firm did not erase its footprints quickly enough, and were caught out by none other than “Anonymous” itself, with evidence good enough to be admissible in court.

And “Anonymous” even did the equivalent of a background check on this firm, and found it had done similar hoaxes before. But the question becomes who was paying them to do it?

Do you really wonder? Or was that a rhetorical question?

The main motivation of modern “feminism” is simply anti-Christianity.

They and the Muzzies are on the same side of that conflict.
