'War on Women' falling flat in Colo. Senate

Colorado Democrats are fretting that Sen. Mark Udall’s (D-Colo.) “War on Women” battle cry against Rep. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) is starting to sound like a broken record.

After a series of polls this past month have shown the race statistically tied or even with Gardner up, some Democrats are urging Udall to find a new refrain against Gardner lest Republicans claim the seat in November.

“Gardner gave him a lot to work with on that subject, but a lot people think he may have overdone it,” said one well-connected Democratic operative in the state. Starting essentially from Gardner’s entry into the race, Udall’s main line of attack on the GOP congressman has been his support for a federal “personhood” measure, which would effectively ban abortion and restrict many forms of birth control.

Gardner, however, has said he regretted his past support for the statewide initiative, and has also helped mitigate hits against him by coming out for over-the-counter birth control—the first in a string of GOP Senate candidates to do so.

The problem is not that the attacks on Gardner haven’t worked, Democrats say — it’s that Udall is swimming against a far tougher tide than many had initially expected, even when the party was preparing for a tough cycle.

They point in particular to President Obama’s approval rating remaining underwater in the state, and Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper’s own tougher than expected reelection thanks in part to self-inflicted wounds.

“There’s a little dissatisfaction with Obama that translates down the Democratic ticket,” admitted Mike Feeley, a former Democratic state Senate minority leader. “I think Udall is trying to overcome that.”

There are advertisements that are doing a great job tying Udall to Obama. They are working like a charm.

When do we ever get to talk about the “War on White Males”?

If there is any “War on Women” it’s from Holder’s people. Ask the family of the girl who is missing in VA.

“When do we ever get to talk about the “War on White Males”?”

Maybe it is time to form a caucus and get a lobbying group in place. We are the only group that doesn’t have representation in Washington.

Democrats insist that, polling and Obama’s approval rating aside, they remain stronger on the ground — and that’s where, they say, the race will be won.

And, they're right. Every election cycle, we hear how the Dems have a ground game that the Pubbies can't compete with. Why the heck is that? Many people thought Romney was going to win in 2012 (including Romney) because of some polls and the crowd sizes. But, in the end, the Dem ground game got their lemmings to the freakin' voting booth and the Pubbies did not get their people out to vote.

Is there no one in the GOP smart enough to develop a competitive ground game? Or..... are Pubbies just not as fired up about their tired, old, white men candidates as the Dems are about theirs?

The War on Women Card has expired. aLong with the Race Card, the Class warfare card, the Global warming, Anti-War card, and the Hope & Change Card. The Democratic Left is bankrupt. How about the Reparations Card? The Amnastry for all Latino’s card? The Close Gitmo card? The Gay Marriage Rights Card? Maybe the Pot-Legalization—stoner card? They have all lost their magic. What do the Republicans have? the Patriot Card, the Support the Troops card and the dump Obamacare card. They never go out of style.

Fail. They've been running these ads for months.

The real war on women is Muslim’s cutting off their heads in the workplace, while the Democrats defend Islam as a ‘religion of peace’
