Yes I’ve noticed “the look” for a long time now. It appears to be one completely void of empathy, love, light. The soul is very dark. I would pray for them if I thought they could be redeemed. I suppose anyone can, but I don’t see it happening. Snowball’s chance in hell and all that.

I've seen that look in so many mugshots. I doubt that many who display that look have ever have been rehabilitated, but that's just a gut feeling and I have nothing to back up my opinion.
On the plus side, he was likely turning his life around. After all, whenever I see this look the perp's mother, friends, and relatives say he was 'good boy just turning his life around.'
Those words no longer have any meaning.
