PRIME Minister John Key has won an emphatic victory in New Zealand’s general election to return for a third term in office.

KEYWORDS:
By New Zealand standards, the Nationals are the major conservative party - by world standards, it's a rather soft form of conservatism, but from a conservative point of view, this is still the best result we could have hoped for. Much better to have John Key as Prime Minister, than David Cunliffe.

Had the extreme pleasure of being his pilot for 8.5 hours one day as I flew him and his wife with a group of NZ folks to Antarctica. He is quite a down to earth man and was very gracious to us. Enjoyed the conversation. He went to school in Boston at Harvard so I had a bit of a connection there too as I was raised just outside Boston. He flipped when I showed him that we had some Dunkin Donuts coffee on board so we made a fresh batch and enjoyed the ride.
