Survivors of Europe's most deadly migrant shipwreck in years have described the horrifying moment traffickers capsized their boat and left them to drown, as the EU cried murder and vowed to step up the fight against people smugglers.
Fresh witness testimony confirmed around 500 people drowned after their boat sank off Malta on Wednesday, including up to 100 children who had been making the treacherous journey from Egypt to Italy, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said on Tuesday.
"After they hit our boat they waited to make sure that it had sunk completely before leaving. They were laughing," one survivor told the Geneva-based organisation.
According to the UN's refugee agency (UNHCR), over 2,500 people have drowned or gone missing attempting the crossing in 2014, and in several separate incidents survivors have spoken of traffickers overfilling rickety boats or locking people below decks to suffocate.

Some act inhuman.
It will slow greatly when countries stop giving illegal aliens welfare benefits that make them better off than they were in their home countries.
Not that difficut if the EU had the will and disipline to do what needs to be done.
The only way to stop them is to patrol the southern Mediterranean shore with gunboats and turn them back before they cross.
Europe is fortunate their illegals can’t wade across the Mediterranean as ours do at the Rio Grande.

The news is horrific anymore. I don’t remember a time in my life, I’m 47, when the news cycle was continually horrifying as it has been in 2014. ISIS, MH370, etc. Just awful..

Africa is being transplanted into southern Europe, in much the manner that Central/South America, along w. Mexico, is being transplanted into that which is putatively the sovereign territory of the U.S.A.
Why did they drown their own passengers?

“A violent argument ensued. The 10 smugglers, said to be Palestinian and Egyptian, began yelling,” the IOM said, citing the latest testimony from Greece.
The enraged traffickers “rammed” the boat which “began to sink immediately, while the smugglers stayed in the area until they were certain that the migrant’s vessel had sunk,” it said.’
Pirates. They should be shot on sight, or, to save ammo, hung from the nearest yardarm.

This is clearly contrary to EU regulations. We will have to pass a resolution in the European Parliament about this. If it doesn’t stop, we will take it straight to the UN Human Rights Council!
The smugglers were Palestinians and Egyptians. Muslims, in other word, and probably sending their profits back to Hamas or the MB.
All cultures are the same... right?
