The best memorial to Eisenhower was built in 1970 in Rancho Mirage, California. It is the Eisenhower Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital serving both residents and visitors in the Coachella Valley.
The original property for the hospital was donated by Bob and Dolores Hope. Today, the hospital has a 542 bed capacity with additional wings and towers named after key donators such as Gene Autry, Walter and Lenore Annenberg, and Greg and Stacy Renker. It is a tribute to the philanthropy of those and numerous other persons who have contributed to the development of this 130 acre campus.
On the median divider directly in from of the main hospital entrance a huge American flag flies. Facing the flag is a beautiful statue of General Eisenhower saluting the flag.
