"...a great point liberalism in the media fails at CNN, liberalism in the media fails at MSNBC fail in terms of ratings, Limbaugh said... Liberalism failed as Air America"
There was a progressive Air America radio station in the Seattle market (1080 AM) for a while. It had Al Franken, Jeanine Garafolo, Stephanie Miller and other radicals along with a strong population of potential liberal listeners. I listened to them quite often to learn what they think and hear comments from their fans.
I couldn't understand their business model and called once to ask Miller how they expected to fund their broadcasting and pay hosts if they were basically anti business and anti America in their message. I didn't realize she was in LA, but she said they do well in the Seattle market because of the strong democrat population. I asked if a good percentage were in fact unable to support retail sponsors, leaving them with mostly non-profit agencies to rely on for ad revenue.
She made fun of me an asked if I still write with crayons. Then her side-kicks made degrading jokes about me and conservatives in general. I hung up and they said, "there he goes back under the covers to pick his nose and listen to Fox News".
They went off the air a couple of months later and the station turned to Latino broadcasting, it think.
you mean 1090 Progressive Talk? They(?) are still trying to resurrect it. Guess the Schultz-Franken-Garofalo message isn’t getting traction here.
outside the UDist most people are too concerned with the day-to-day to spend time out in the ozone with these particular talking heads.
rant doesn’t go down well with Seattleites apparently.
