And now, I am going to recount two anecdotal things that happened to my family recently.

My wife needed two prescriptions that were for skin issues, that were not covered by insurance. In 6-9 MONTHS, the prices went up 75-100%. These are not for life-threatening, “cosmetic” purposes that you can live without. In one of the two cases, she will do so. These are not exotic, biological, recombinant-DNA miracle medicines; in one case, they’ve been making it in vats for decades. If I had access to my high schools’ lab and ordering catalog again, I could make one of them myself in mass quantities.

In one of the two cases, there was a mail-in rebate involved. We sent it in. The rejection letter came back along with our material, with the “promotion over” box checked. The postmarks of all of the materials we sent (and including the rejection letter) are all postmarked BEFORE the promotion ended. In fact, according to this company website, it is still ongoing! She has placed two phone calls (after being on hold for about 1/2 hour in total) and had to leave a message for a callback. We are still waiting. I’m giving them until Monday and then I will put the instrument of the Wrath of you-know-who upon them, namely, me. I have had officers of rather large insurance companies wetting their pants and sending me claims Fed-Ex the next day.

So, HOW, I wonder, can this be blamed on Obamacare alone? The simple answer is that these bastards are gouging the public any way that they can, for as long as they can, and the avenues to do so are shrinking. They are bringing on Single Payer ALL BY THEMSELVES - they didn’t even NEED Obama’s help. If Obama didn’t do what he did, the next president would have done it anyway.

Now, Obama and his team are damnable liars, but I actually rank Obama in my hierarchy of respect at a higher level than, say, used car salesmen, rapists, child molesters and medical industry executives (respectively).

Cost of meds is absolutely bizarre. Had two prescriptions for eye drops for retinal problem, both were for generic brand. Called the drug store to see if they were ready and the cost and was told it would be almost $200. After I recovered from that news, decided to poke around on the internet and found that if I bought a $20 drug card from Walgreen’s, I could save some money. Cost of the prescriptions with the Walgreen’s card was $53.

Better deal for me because I’m going to be using them for a while and getting refills but somebody is making a whole lot of money on these.
